Alessandro Del Piero, one of the most famous Italian footballers to every play for Juventus and for his country of Italy was on born November 9, 1974 in the town of Conegliano, Italy.

Del Piero is an absolute master at the supporting striker position, amazing fans of Italy night in and night out. Although Del Piero is unusually short for a striker, he is quite affective, as he is known for his unbelievable creative ability on the pitch and an incredible skill for dribbling around defenders. He is also an absolute assassin when put in dead ball situations, so much so that he is considered one of the best in the world at free kicks, up there with the likes of David Beckham of England.
Del Piero has become Italian football legend playing for his club Juventus, although he hasn't had the same sort of success playing for his national team, but he is Italy's 4th all-time in the scoring category.

Del Piero's first international appearance for Italy came back in the Euro championship of 1996. His appearance limited to one half of football against Russia though, as he didn't start the second half or play in the rest of the tournament in which Italy lost in the first round.

The 1998 World Cup was the next stop for the famous footballer. This was somewhat of a disappointment for the striker as he had suffered an injury while playing for Juventus before the tournament and was competing for a spot against Robert Baggio whom the fans loved and adored. The Italians eventually lost in the tournament to home country France in a penalty shootout.
